  • We provide colour coded PDF digital take-off drawings using the latest Bluebeam software and quantity surveys this allow our clients to easily understand their projects and reference appropriate scopes on demand and can be sent with the tenders to show your clients you have taken the time to measure the contract diligently. We also work with our clients to format the Work Breakdown Structure or Bill of Materials to fit their preferred project management methods

  • We provide a professional Bills of Quantities solution thereby saving contractors and sub-contractors the high costs involved in employing a fulltime department to carry out this work.

  • Bills of Quantities which we provide contractors with includes the following benefits: -

  • Detailed and accurate Bills of Quantities produced

  • Based on Standard Method of Measurement (SMM7) or New Rules of Measurement (NRM 2)

  • Builders Quantities produced

  • Bespoke Measurement in accordance with contractors’ requirements

Responsibility for two trainees and one intermediate surveyor, supply chain management ,Estimating, measurement, valuation preparation, final accounts, administration, procurement, sub-contractor and supplier valuations and payment certificates, cost/value reconciliation’s, budgets, pricing, claim management, cost control and client liaison,

BBC Western House and North West Studios and Broadcasting House
Main Contractor: Bovis Lend Lease Value: £5 Million
Scope of Works: Bespoke Joinery and sound proofing works to BBC Radio 2 studios. Including new Ash doors frames and ironmongery and Ash skirting and chair rails bespoke soundproof cladding panels and Ash technical skirting Fabric wall coverings and framing. 6 new kitchens and floor plinths for IT Ash Pattresses for studio equipment, new blinds, and new custom built insitu cupboards and a bespoke walnut reception desk. Design development and complete construction and part fitting out of individual studios, associated workshops and plant rooms. Works generally comprise structural steel, jacked and floating inertia insitu concrete slabs, acoustic partitions, ceilings and linings, acoustic doors and windows, acoustic wall panelling, raised access floors and finishes.

SITE SURVEYOR - WATES CONSTRUCTION

January 2004 to October 2004

I worked in a procurement team on two £11 million retirement homes. My duties included preparing tender packages, sending them out, analysing the tenders and completing comparisons between the tenders and the cost plan to highlight any variations, putting together the subcontract orders and negotiating any savings that could be made etc. I also completed some monthly valuations for one of the projects and completed commercial reports for contract review meetings with Wates Directors.

PROJECT SURVEYOR - LANVIEW LIMITED

May 1999 and January 2004

I was responsible for contracts to the value of £10k to £1 million. I worked on more than half of the company’s annual turnover in the retail sector. My specialist areas were in retail refurbishment and fit out works. I also took on the role of Quantity Surveyor for the brickwork department, where I completed three projects to the value of £1.5 million.
My duties included preparing bill of quantities and tender packages by “taking off” drawings and working out the rates from first principles. I did the entire project on site measurement and prepare and submit interim valuations and final accounts. I prepared works in progress reports and assisted the Commercial Director in preparing any claims that arose during the project. I negotiated work packages with construction management teams and also managed subcontractor accounts and negotiated their valuations. I have working knowledge of JCT98 and the new engineering contract.
I contract managed the majority of my projects by organising the labour levels and subcontractors attendances etc.
I have managed a construction site team in the retail sector for several construction management teams. I have monitored and order supplies and labour with regards to site drawings and their progression and liased with other partnering teams. Throughout my projects I kept to tight schedules and programmes, attended pre-start meetings and seminars, organised general admin for tradesmen wages, ordered materials and authorised invoices.
Projects I have undertaken include Sainsbury’s, BHS, Asda, Ikea, Somerfields and Terminal 2 at Heathrow airport and may other office refurbishments.

I worked in the surveying department assisting the surveyors with monthly valuations and subcontractor accounts. I was responsible for all of the material buying for housing sites up to 300 plots.
